The new home for WPT

The World Poker tour has made the major announcement, the event will take place in 2014 at Borgata. This announcement was made during the second day of Borgata Poker open and the World Championship Season XII will be conducted at Borgata Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

The announcement was made by the WPT president Adam Pliska and he was delighted to name Borgata as the new location for the 5 biggest championships in WPT history. Borgata holds good status for conducting world class tournaments and they provide excellent services to the players. The venue is the perfect place to host the biggest tournament in poker history. The team is looking forward to bringing the WPT championship to a new height.

The first 11 seasons of WPT championship was held at the Bellagio in Las Vegas. There were only 146 players to participate in the last season after defeating Erick Lindgren by Chino Reem, earning the title and prize money of $1,150,279. Since the 2007 event, the attendance of players was slowly declining when Carlos Mortensen defeated to win the cash prize of $ 3,970,415.

WPT also announced the official sponsor of the season XII Championship will be PartyPoker. Everyone is looking forward to the three most respected names in poker, Party Poker, WPT and Borgata. The team members are trying their best to make the championship as impressive that ever before. The Borgata senior vice president of operations are pleased to announce they are expanding their enduring relationship with WPT through launching Borgatapoker.com. Party Poker sponsoring the WPT Championship will become an important episode in the history of poker tournament.

In addition to Borgata poker open and WPT Championship, Pliska also announced the well deserved reputed place will host three separate TV tournaments and it will air on FOX Sports.
